A virtual inspection is a building inspection carried out remotely, in one of two ways. Live: the person on site points a phone camera at the work while a certified inspector examines it, directs the walkthrough and captures the evidence. Offline: a certified site representative captures photos and video of the work in the inspection app, and the inspector reviews the submitted report and issues the result. Either way the outcome is a documented inspection against the adopted code, without an inspector driving to your site.
It is the same judgment you would get from an inspector standing next to you. What changes is the travel, and the days you spend waiting for it.
